Link Crew
What is Link?
Cairine Wilson’s Link Crew is a group of teachers and senior students who care about grade nines and making sure their first year in high school goes as smoothly as possible. As a grade 9 student, you will be paired with Link Leaders, who are grade 11 and 12 students at Cairine Wilson. Their job is to show you the ropes and support you as you transition to high school.
What Does Link Crew do Throughout the Year?
Orientation Day
On Orientation Day, grade nine students are introduced to their Link groups and Link Leaders. Link groups spend the day together doing activities, touring the school, getting their schedules for the year, asking questions, and getting their own school shirt! The day ends with a BBQ for all!
Grade 9 Socials
Throughout the semester, Link Crew will be hard at work planning fun events: Here is a list of some of our favourite events. They never disappoint so be sure to show up!
Lusk Caves Field Trips
Murder Mystery
Hide and Glow Seek
Family Feud
Zombie style Capture the Flag
Academic Support
Part of transitioning to high school is learning how to be an even better student! Link Leaders will be there to support you with your academics. Throughout the year, you’re likely to have Link Crew leaders come to your class to run workshops on improving your academics. They also plan exam study sessions, and can always get you in contact with a tutor to support your learning.
